OKEHAMPTON Running Club’s Jeremy Tandy came third in the Dartmoor Challenge Marathon. This was despite missing some of the trail markers, necessitating three unplanned river crossings!
The out and back race started at Saltram House near Plympton following the river Plym up on to the southern slopes of Dartmoor with a strong wind and persistent rain throughout. Jeremy’s rather cold and wet family were at the finish to cheer him on up the final hill by which time he had covered a distance of 27 miles in 4 hours 22 minutes 07 seconds.
