NORTH Tawton Bowling Club season is over and there are many successes to look back on. Iris Gill, Margaret Arscott and Nicci Wilkins reached the quarter finals of the England Bowls triples.
Ladies' club champion and winner of Powesland Cup, Iris Gill; men's club champion and winner of the Wonnacott Cup, Robert Arscott; men's two woods, Lloyd Reynolds; men's pairs Robert Arscott and Mike Thwaites; triples Lloyd Reynolds, John Kinsey and Rick Ball; Benham Cup, Gordon Denham. Ladies' two woods, Margaret Arscott; ladies' pairs, Iris Gill and Gill Hollis; triples, Margaret Denham, Jan Summers and Iris Gill; Mary Lee Cup, Anita Lamey. Men's league games: In the North Devon triples North Tawton A were promoted to division two; North Tawton B were promoted to division five; over 60s A team were relegated to division four; over 60s C team promoted to division five; over 60s B team remain in division five. North Tawton A team won the 86 Shield competition. In the ladies' North Tawton were runners up in their Shield 86 Competition and second in their North Devon Triples League.
New captain John Kinsey takes over from Lloyd Reynolds; chairman Mike Thwaites thanked secretary Gordon Denham and also president Margaret Arscott who retired from her post at the end of the season.
The annual meeting will be held at the club house on Thursday, November 27 at 7.30pm.
