SHEBBEAR College’s first rugby XV got their new season off to an excellent start in a warm up tournament last weekend in which Shebbear beat hosts West Buckland 28-0 and then beat Mount Kelly 12-5.

Shebbear’s 2017 captain, Siaosi Taufa, was delighted with his side and praised first XV debutants Oscar Skrbinsek, Will Cunningham, Tom Robins, Revell Groom, Alex Watling, Jack Ritchard, Zoltan Wagner, Eddie Jones and Jack Joslin. 

Will Cowan Dickie and Alessandro Aliberti shared the man of the match award, but there was fantastic play from a number of players. Number 10, Will Cunningham scored the crucial try against Mount Kelly with a well judged chip and chase to secure the game.
