Okehampton 2
Caradon 1
OKEHAMPTON hosted third place Caradon and after struggling to get a full team this week the hosts started the game on the front foot. Daan Rademaker, making his debut appearance for the first eleven made a superb impact.
Oke dominated the first 35 minutes scoring both their goals and preventing a single shot on their goal, thanks to outstanding defending from their back three.
The first goal came from the in-form Tom Forrester when he drag flicked home from a short corner. The next goal came when Forrester turned provider finding Mark Parsons, who hit the ball into the bottom corner from the top the area.
More opportunities came and went with good defending and goalkeeping preventing from the home side walking away with it - the best half of hockey Oke have played this season.
The second half saw the visitors regroup and came back into the game with a deflected goal. Parsons for the home side was yellow carded and Oke were forced to dig deep.
Okehampton were dangerous on the counter with Josh Speaks and the outstanding Lewis Day both running the opposition ragged down the hosts left side.
Parsons returned after his ten on the sidelines and within two minutes Luke Liversidge saw yellow for a deliberate back stick, but the home side shuffled their side with Will Cooper slotting in at centre back and man of the match Day moving deeper into left back. Oke saw the game through with ten men and fully deserved to win with their depleted squad, every player in a purple shirt having a great game.
