AN OKEHAMPTON resident celebrated her landmark birthday in style after receiving a Harley Davison as a birthday present.
Dorothea Williams celebrated her 100th birthday on December 14, at Wardhayes Residential Home in Okehampton. She enjoyed spending the day with her family, which included her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece and nephew.
Mrs Williams — who was born in Cheriton, Hampshire in 1908, where she met her husband Harry — used to own and ride a motorbike and received the model gift during her birthday celebrations.
As a founder brownie she was delighted to be entertained by the Okehampton brownies and enjoyed reliving many happy memories with her family and friends.
Mrs Williams was widowed in 1972 and moved to Devon 13 years ago to live near her daughter and has been carefully looked after at Wardhayes Residential Home, where she has resided for the past year since becomming completely blind.
